Asbestos on Campus: A Townhall

In response to the recent asbestos contamination in the Medical Sciences Building, CUPE 3902 has worked in conjunction with other Locals on campus to organize an information session. The intent is to educate members, workers and students on the current status of the issue, the dangers of asbestos exposure and on Occupational Health and Safety legislation in Ontario.

WHEN: Friday, March 31, 12-2pm
WHERE: UC 140 – Signage will be posted indicating accessible entrances.

Lunch will be served.

Ping Cui, MB, MSc, CIH, Occupational Hygienist, Occupational Health Clinics for Ontario Workers
Vern Edwards, Occupational Health and Safety Director for the Ontario Federation of Labour
Paul Demers, PhD., Director of the Occupational Cancer Research Centre, Cancer Care Ontario, Professor, Institute for Medical Sciences and Dalla Lana School of Public Health.

This event is a collaboration between CUPE 3261, USW Local 1998, UTGSU, APUS, UTFA, and CUPE 3902.
