In May 2024, your elected leadership met and co-drafted the strategic plan for the Local. In June, your elected leadership visited every Unit Council and received unanimous endorsement from stewards for this action plan.
Our Local’s objectives are to strive for a living wage, safe working conditions, and dependable work for all. We do this by making strong relationships with the public we serve and the communities in which we work and live. Therefore, the Local’s overarching goal for 2024-25 is to BUILD A STRONG UNION.
To build is to actively do something, and it’s to do it with intent. We have four pillars for our action plan, they are: Build Winning Campaigns, Build Member Ownership, Build Strong Structures, and Support Community Organizing.
To win is to plan. To build a strong union is to plan. This doesn’t happen overnight. It’s up to us to organize and fight. We have to be the vehicle that unites and organizes our future through democratic trade unionism.
