U1 BARGAINING STARTS NOW!!
Our current Collective Agreement expires in December and our elected bargaining team has been hard at work over the summer crafting proposals to build a new and better Collective Agreement for all of us.
At a Unit 1 Membership Meeting in July, we unanimously endorsed an ambitious bargaining platform that includes demands for:
– 20k guaranteed minimum funding
– 10k half-course rate for Course Instructors
– major financial gains for unfunded students
– a range of equity initiatives and support for mental health, in particular
– and much more!
For more on the platform, please see our bargaining bulletin
It’s an exciting and ambitious platform and will require the demonstration of our collective organizing power to win it! September 25th is the first day our U1 Bargaining Team sits down at the negotiating table with university management. Come out and show your support and help us win the gains we deserve!
You’ll hear from our Bargaining Team and others, and get a chance to chant like it’s February 2015 again (only without the frigid temperatures)!
The rally will be outside Simcoe Hall between 12-2. The space is physically accessible (please see the poster image for an accessible route) and there will be snacks available (including vegan and GF). Please contact vc1@cupe3902.org if there any other accommodations that would make it more accessible for you.
All are welcome! The more strength the university sees the more negotiating power we have. Let’s show them we mean business!
